Hi,

Did you try uninstalling the drivers for the Logitech mouse (and indeed any other mice)?  We have no issues with Hover here when testing in Lion.

I have exactly this issue with my new RAT 7 under 10.6.8.  AFAIK I have no other drivers installed.  I have nothing in the control panel, I just had a generic Dell USB mouse plugged in and AFAIK I installed no software.  I have installed 1.1.42 software.  I only have a few days to RMA this as it is currently useless.  Please respons ASAP.

After talking with the live support, he sent me a driver witch did not solve the issue.
I tried the mouse on different configuration:
Desktop PC - Win7: Working
MacBook Air - Lion: Bugged
MacBook Pro Retina - Lion OR Mountain Lion DP4/GM: Bugged
MacBook Pro Retina under Windows 7: Working
All computers where freshly formatted.

Mac driver tested: 1.1.30 and 1.1.42.

Video of the problem: http://cl.ly/3w220X3r0V141E0R191Y

I would be pleased to help the debs/support to solve this issue, as many Mac Users are having this problem (numerous tickets open on Apple Discussion Support)

All your issues are being noted - we'll take further looks and see if we can replicate and we may be in touch via email with further questions.

Just a note as well for certain angry people that I've noticed in the post moderation queue: all comments are moderated and, as such, don't appear instantly when you post - we are not deleting your posts!  90% of the posts we receive are from spam bots so we have to weed those out and prevent them from cluttering up the comments threads.

Hi.  Sorry, but we have no plans to support 10.5 - it's substantially different to 10.6, 10.7 and 10.8 to cause numerous issues.  With the problems that 10.8 is causing as well we need to focus on current and future updates.

The official download link has been updated to version 1.1.43 - this should fix the hover issue that some of you were still getting (apparently not all 10.7.4 installations are equal!).

"i didn't installed any drivers yet"

That's the problem - install the drivers and everything should behave correctly.

I bought the Rat 7 some weeks ago and did not encounter problems until now recently. Running Lion by the way. The "Status Bar"-icon disappeared and whenever I try to toggle it in the Preferences-pane, it crashes. Not the editor, but Preferences... Also the editor gets weird at random: When viewing the Programming tab, the options display numbers instead of Scroll Button and Scroll left and so on. Tried reinstalling 5 times but doesn't work.

Hoping for update or help Smile

Good day.

I was one of the guys informing awhile ago of issue with mountain lion.

The latest version of your app 1.1.45 beta.
I'm not getting the issues from the past so useable now (steer-mouse was my suggestion to you guys in the past for the time being)

Any how i've run into a few things that don't work in this app.
1. Battery percentage shows 0
2. DPI settings don't work
3. precision aim doesn't work
4. Command test does not work.

I had no problems with my lovely new MMO7 in Mac OS X Lion, but when I installed Mountain Lion this week, even my Apple mouse did not work correctly with the dock. I thought the problem was with the dock, opened a ticket with Apple Support, got no help there, reinstalled Mountain Lion today. The dock worked properly for several seconds, then reverted to being broken.

My tiny brain went "Aha!". Something finished loading and screwed up the way mouse and dock function together. Checked your site, downloaded and installed the beta 1.1.43.mpkg after having uninstalled your 1.1.28 software and rebooted. The problem disappeared!

Many thanks, you crazed kittens! All is now well again. Your efforts are much appreciated. You get a thumbs up for this version of your Mac software. You're definitely on the right track. I enjoy the heck out of being able to use my MMO7 in SWTOR in Boot Camp and WoW Mountain Lion.

My suggestion to all who have been having similar troubles is to install Cyborg's latest Mac beta. It worked like a charm for me!

Hi

I have a problem with the acceleration of my R.A.T. 5 in Mac OS X 10.6.8.
I have recently installed the new 1.1.45 Beta Drivers. I do not have anymore hover issues.

The mouse operates perfectly in Windows.

However, the mouse functions in alignment with the Mac acceleration which I then killed using the Kill Mouse Accel app. (You can achieve the same by killing the acceleration in the Terminal).
After seemingly killing the acceleration (my Magic Mouse works correctly and shows no signs of acceleration), the R.A.T. 5 mouse operates somewhat strangely. For instance, when moving the cursor slowly, it will jump every once in a while. After some testing, it now seems the cursor moves with inverted acceleration: that is, it moves more quickly when moving the mouse slowly. The inprecision of the cursor when moving slowly is maddening, especially when the precision on the Windows side of my machine is perfect.

Any advice? ( I have tried USB Override, Mouse Curves, and some other System plug-ins to no avail).

Best,

Bryce

I have R.A.T. 5 Gaming Mouse that I use on Win7 pro and Mac OSX Lion.

I absolutely love it on my Win7 PC and I hate it on my Mac. Mac drivers are HORRIBLE!!! Mouse behaves like very, very cheap wireless mouse with significant and VERY annoying "rubber band" like lag effect! It is almost unusable on my mac (Mac Mini, i5 (Mid 2011), 16GB RAM, OSX Lion). Thank you for fixing Precision Aim Button.. at least now is somewhat usable but far cry from the Win7 experience.

Can you guys please fix this!?

The main reasons I bought this mouse are performance, ergonomics and quite large middle (wheel) button that I use on regular basis for 3D programs like Maya and 3ds Max.

Hi,

We don't do anything with the mouse cursor movement: that's the OS.  You can read more details about a skipping bug caused by higher report rate mice (that has apparently been fixed) here:

d43.me/.../

And what sounds like your lag issue here:

d43.me/.../

As the guy who writes that blog says, apparently Apple are aware of it but it may take some time to fix.

Thank you for your response. At least this clears the confusion what is the core of this performance problem on OSX.

Apologise for the rant in advance, but I'm REALLY annoyed and disappointed! - I purchased the Rat 5 believing it to be a superior gaming mouse, checked the box and it had Mac logo on it - so I believed OSX was supported. Installed the software. Profile Edit will not accept profiles - click the + button and nothing happens. The movement of the pointer is all over the place in OS X - even browsing with Safari is weird -  Why do you release hardware and software that does not work! I have a 10 year old Dell Ball mouse (no lazer) that's more accurate that this. How do I get my money back. Should have went with reliable Logitech.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble.  We're working on a big update to the software which adds support for new products coming soon as well as fixing some of the issues some people have reported recently.

Regarding the issues you're having with cursor movement, read my post back on the 10th September (just above this, in fact) about why you might experience those kind of problems.

I have tryed all versions of the driver and software that i can find on the net. and well I'm sad to say NONE of them worked for me. fresh install of 10.6.8 - 10.7.5 - 10.8.1 and I can get nothing to work..

I have been to my mates and he has 3 iMacs doing nothing so i tested it on them all.. NOTHING!!!

I'm not to happy that its advertised for mac yet I have not managed to get it to work..
I'm currently using USBoverdrive as its the only thing I have found that lets me use the mouse..
The problem with USBoverdrive is the precession aim don't work like it should and it now just another button to use. so i have the coolest mouse ever that don't work as well as the £5 mouse i have.. so sad.
the only bit of the mouse that works like the box said is the dpi changer.

Would LOVE to get this working like it should. have tryed this in win7 and it works like it should

richard United Kingdom | Reply

11/20/2012 5:47:50 PM #

I purchased a R.A.T. 7 mouse probably 8-10 months ago, which stated it was mac compatible. Unfortunately compatible and fully functional are two very different things. I have been checking in from time to time to see if any updates have fixed the issues I have been having but none have made any difference.  The issue I am having is when I start up my computer the mouse's "hover" ability is non responsive (whenever I hover over things the computer does not recognize where my cursor is. For whatever reason if I unplug the mouse and then plug it back in it seems to fix all the issues (programmed buttons begin working, precision aim works, and the hover functionality is restored). I have an iMac and it is quite annoying to have to do this every time I restart my computer. I also have clean macbook air I only use for taking tests and I get the same issues when I use the mouse on this computer. I have Lion installed on both computers.

Hi,

If this is a brand new M.M.O.7 then the first thing to check is that you have removed the sticker covering the laser lens.  If you have then give the lens a good clean and try again - if it still doesn't work after that then it needs testing on another PC to be sure, but it might have a fault.

I bought a RAT 3 thinking that it would be nice to have a mouse with up to date software for my Mac. After down loading the software and plugging in the mouse, the curser moved in slow motion pushing the various buttons got it working fairly well. I went looking to see if there was a window to set the buttons like my old Razor mouse and came up with nothing. Spent hours checking web sites to discover what I was doing wrong.

Finally sent an email to the tech department and got "Tick 'Enable access for assistive devices' in the Universal Access pane of System Preferences and this will solve the issue." which the tech guy must have cut and pasted from the web site, which I had read before sending the email. No, this did not fix anything and was not helpful. He did not read my email which was obvious.

Went back to Best Buy and talked to one of their Geek Guys and was told " the mouse works with Mac BUT you can't program the buttons".  WHAT! A programable mouse that you can't program, great! Returned it. What a waste of time. Back to my Razor that is programable even has a window to work from, what an idea.

Wendy United States | Reply

1/9/2013 3:40:22 PM #

Shame that the Best Buy guy misinformed you - the software from our website does enable you to program the buttons.  It adds a scratches icon to the top of your screen, from which you can access the profiler.
