Awards season is upon us – a time to reminisce and look back on what has been a truly landmark year for gaming. One of the first out of the gate are IGN who have nominated the R.A.T.7 as their favourite PC accessory. Thanks guys – lovin’ your work!

"In case we hadn't already established that it's a looker, let's say it once and for all right now: the Rat 9 is one sexy mouse. Dressed completely in deathly black with sharp angles and rakish curves throughout,"
‘Nuff said. Read the full review here

… is a question we’ve been asked a lot when we’ve been at trade shows over the Summer, in addition to, “When is the R.A.T.9 out?”, “Do you have a left-handed version?” and “What about Mac support?” Followers of our comments threads will know that the answers to those questions are; soon, not at the moment and we’re working on it.
The answer to the game question though is very easy – Valve’s modern multiplayer classic, Left 4 Dead 2. Its many positives were all nicely summed up by Jason at Gameshark last year but this has a fair number of us in the office glued to our monitors every lunchtime (and evenings too). Its genius is in two things: firstly that even though there are only a few campaigns to play through, each and every time you play will be different thanks to the A.I. Director that monitors how you’re playing. If you’re playing well, it will pour hordes of infected onto you as if it was raining zombies; play badly and it will lay off for a bit to give you a chance to recover. Secondly, never has a game encouraged cooperation to this extent. There truly is no place for lone wolves here – go off on your own and you’ll just get pounced by a Hunter, strung up by a Smoker or pounded by a Charger. It’s also the first game ever where I’ve actually been happy to give away my health pack to make sure someone can make it to the end of the level – definitely an achievement in itself. More...

There’s a well-known saying that one swallow does not a summer make, so to paraphrase that slightly, one good review does not a good product make. The 10/10 “kick-ass” review that we received from Maximum PC was obviously much appreciated but it always helps to get a second opinion; so here’s a second, third, fourth and fifth opinion to add to the critical mass that’s building around the R.A.T.
First from the guys at EverythingUSB.com – “This has to be no holds barred best, most customizable, most easy to use piece of input control hardware I have ever had to honor of using”
Next from ArsTechnica.com - "this is a mouse that offers everything you could ask for—and some things that may have never occurred to you."
A write-up from Detroit News has also gone online - "If you want a new high-quality gaming mouse that's customizable and with a very nice set of features, pick up one of the Cyborg R.A.T. line!"
Finally here’s a typically professional video review from the guys at Hardware Canucks - "Could easily be the coolest video gaming peripheral we've seen"

So that was E3 – another show done and dusted. As usual the focus was mainly on the consoles, especially with all three major platform holders talking about their new hardware offerings – Kinect, Move and the 3DS have all been the talk of the show.
On the games front there was very little that was surprising – most titles having been either leaked or talked about prior to the show – but we thought it would be worth highlighting a few titles that we think are going to be very important to fans of Cyborg products in the coming year.
