Plunger? Mechanical? Scissor?

by richard

No, we aren’t branching out into DIY equipment – these are the three main types of key used in keyboards at the moment and we’d like to know which one you prefer (along with some other questions). So let’s see if we can get some key responses about the keys on your keyboard and then we can see if we’re keyed in to what you guys want. Pass this on to all of your gamer friends too – the more people who fill this in, the better a picture we’ll have.

Thanks!

i40 is go, go, GO!

by richard

It’s LAN-time again so if you’re in the area come and see us at Newbury Racecourse this weekend where we will have a stand packed to the gills with things to do and see.  TCM Gaming’s Team Fortress 2 team will be playing live from our stand as they attempt to make their way through to winning the tournament – so if you want to see how the pros play then come and spectate and lend them some support.

In addition we’re going to be running some head-to-head shootouts which will also give attendees the chance to get more hands-on time with the new R.A.T. mice ahead of their full UK retail launch at the start of September. As a special treat for those attending the show, we’re also going to have the R.A.T. available to purchase so if you want to be one of the first people in the UK to take a R.A.T. home then this is your chance. The rest of the Cyborg range will also be there should you see anything else that you’d like to pick up.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got to go and have some more practice at improving my headshot percentage in L4D2…

p.s here are some Cyborg wallpapers for you, click the thumbnails for the full size image to save

Gamescom 2010: R.A.T.7 nominated for Best Hardware Accessory

by Marc

It’s Gamescom time!  The next major trade show event is upon us and we’re there to let everyone get their hands on the R.A.T. – which is handy because interest is likely to be higher than ever thanks to our receiving a nomination for Best Hardware Accessory.  If you’re at Gamescom, come on over to our stand in Hall 9 / Section A61d for a closer look.  For those of you not at the show, we’ll be taking some pictures and getting those uploaded towards the end of the week so keep an eye out for that.

The Summer of R.A.T. continues

by Marc

There’s a well-known saying that one swallow does not a summer make, so to paraphrase that slightly, one good review does not a good product make.  The 10/10 “kick-ass” review that we received from Maximum PC was obviously much appreciated but it always helps to get a second opinion; so here’s a second, third, fourth and fifth opinion to add to the critical mass that’s building around the R.A.T.

First from the guys at EverythingUSB.com – “This has to be no holds barred best, most customizable, most easy to use piece of input control hardware I have ever had to honor of using”

Next from ArsTechnica.com - "this is a mouse that offers everything you could ask for—and some things that may have never occurred to you."

A write-up from Detroit News has also gone online - "If you want a new high-quality gaming mouse that's customizable and with a very nice set of features, pick up one of the Cyborg R.A.T. line!"

Finally here’s a typically professional video review from the guys at Hardware Canucks - "Could easily be the coolest video gaming peripheral we've seen"
